Being a mother and English teacher, not to mention an avid fan of reading, I was truly conscious of the importance of reading and had often tried my best to instil in my little ones and students a love of reading however, I still thought of if I was not maybe missing something and chose to investigate the situation further.

I was pleasantly impressed to find out that the specialists agree—audio books in fact help to improve a child's reading! Just by listening to audiobooks, little ones are presented with possibility to hear words and thus giving them with models for the proper use of grammar and as well giving them the opportunity to see the correct pronunciation of fresh or difficult words.

Another benefit of audio books is that they may play an important part in connecting the gap in youngsters whose understanding and comprehension is usually greater than their reading skill. Often children who can't yet read or who are simply learning to read become disappointed by their lack of reading ability. In allowing them to "read" along with an audio book this frustration can be prevented as being the child feels as though these are really reading. This is an enormous advantage when reassuring a life-long love of books and reading in the really young.
